It took more than 23,000 photos, 300GB of data and over 6 months for James Florio, a Chilien photographer, to shoot and edit the amazing timelapse video for the Hotel Elqui Domos in Pisco Elqui, Chile.

Pisco Elqui is a Chilean village located in the Elqui Valley, at about 1,300 meters above sea level. It is one of the clearest places in the world to star gaze, the time-lapse and stop motion project overviews the stunning beauty of outer-space.

And Chile is home to The Very Large Telescope (VLT), a telescope operated by the European Southern Observatory, in the Atacama Desert, which is the most arid area in the world, with no recorded rain in known history.

The project was commissioned by Hotel Elqui Domos to James Florio as an online marketing scheme. Photos are courtesy of James Florio, Music, Amuki Trio, Song: Kh’espiña – Hector Soto.
