Coca-Cola just released an amazing 60-second commercial — the Coca Cola super bowl 2013, and it stars camels and bedouins, showgirls, cowboys, motorcycling bad boys, badlanders and glitter bombs. It is an awkward commercial that is somewhat strange from Coke’s ad legacy of polar bears, penguins and music icons. All that has been replaced with a cast of characters who are stranded in a sweltering hot desert. It is a first for the global soda manufacturer, where viewers are asked to decide the fate of the ad’s ending.
Coke worked with Wieden + Kennedy to create the “gamified” campaign which allows users to vote on which group will receive an ice cold soda on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. Consumers can also sabotage their least favorite team on cokechase.com.
