It wouldn’t be far fetched if  the London fashion week 2012 was labeled the weirdest so far. The most avant-garde catwalk yet was the Moritz Waldemeyer + Philip Treacy show with their electronic haute couture style. German-born designer Moritz Waldemeyer teamed with british milliner Philip Treacy to create a unique concept where technology and fashion were blended together in an ambitious statement of class and authenticity.

The collaboration honoring the master hat designer’s return to the british capital after 12 years for the most hotly anticipated in vogue event. waldemeyer created stunning electronic haute couture. Two pieces for the show – a full body garment and an illuminated head piece – both informed by the concept of weightlessness as part of the brief for the exhibit.  The second composition – the illuminated attire – was achieved through a diligently sculpted mesh of 6000 LEDs. Would you ever go clubbing wearing one of these?
