The invisible man Liu Bolin has been performing his disappearing acts around the world. The 40 y.o. Chinese artist perfectly disguises himself to blend the surroundings, however intricate these might be. The only sign to give him away is a faint disruption in the image caused by his outline.
Bolin combines a several techniques to be able to come up with the imagery without the use of photoshop – sculpture, body art, performance and photography. He just stands there for hours without moving to reach this remarkable trompe l’oeil.
Currently, the invisible man Liu Bolin is exhibiting some of his newest camouflages photo-performance images at Galerie Paris-Beijing labeled ‘hiding in the city’ project.
