I’ve always asked myself about the calorie intakes of athletes with their godlike bodies. They must exert incredible amounts of energy in whichever sports discipline they compete in. So what do they eat and how do they handle the issue of nutrition. Photographer Umit Betkas has an interesting article and accompanying photogallery on the daily food intakes of several athletes on Turkey’s Olympic team currently participating in London.
Six athletes were chosen and interviewed. Umit asked them how they solved the issue of nutrition and made a list of all that they ate during a day. The food arranged on the table was derived from lists provided by the athletes themselves. It’s interesting to see the difference in each athlete’s meals as they strive to reach their daily 3000-3500 kCal intake.
