Man has always been very inventive and industrious. It has never been more true than in our present day. But in the early 20th century man wasn’t less creative, and this post of weird inventions I will prove it to you. These weird inventions come from all over the world, from Great Britain and Canada, to Germany, Italy and France. Some are remotely amusing, from the bicycle-tire life jacket to the bike that can continue to be ridden in even after it’s toppled over—since the shape of the bike is completely circular. Others are kind of frightening: take the mask and buggy for gas attacks, invented in interwar London, or the double cigarette holder, “for very heavy smokers.” Last, but not least, there’s the mind-numbing category, such as the very final photo… where the contraption is supposed to teach that baby how to walk, although we very much doubt it would do anything to help in that sense. Here’s the 25 weird inventions from the early 20th century that totally hilarious.
